These pups will live for many years. We want them to become a happy, healthy part of your family. Therefore your experience with other pets is important information. They will require time and energy for training and giving love and attention.
3. Is your residence in a rural, suburban, or metropolitan area?
These pups are the perfect size for any type of lifestyle.
4. Is your yard enclosed?
We will sell to experienced families who prefer to walk their pups. They can run very fast when they are older, training them to stay and come it very important.
5. Who will be responsible for the care and feeding?
We are now serving Iams and Nutro Natural Choice Puppy foods. Ask! We are always looking for the best nutrition for your baby.
6. What are the ages of any children in the home?
Children will need to be included with the care and training. Dogs are pack animals and your family will become their pack. Young Children will need to be gentle.
7. Will the pup be alone for long period of time?
Pups long for your attention. They may chew or be destructive if they do not get enough attention or exercise. We recommend a Pen for pups rather than a crate for long periods. 2 Month pup can wait 2 hours to go potty, 3 months can wait 3 hours and so on. Do not expect a very young pup to hold it all day. Pens and puppy pads help with this issue if you are gone all day.
8. Will you crate train or pen the pup?
Open pens ( like a childs play yard) are best for young pups and give them a sense of being part of the family.
Remember they like a den, it is nice to have an open crate for them to crawl in for naps. (New finding!, they can climb on the crate and get out of the pen, so watch for this) These pups are family pets, they are raised with lots of love and cuddling, crating for long periods without interaction with the family will be harmful to your pup.
9. What type of pup are you looking for? Color? Energy level? Male or Female?
So you think your ready? Here are some ideas to prepare for your baby. We use plastic puppy Exercise Pens. For the pups during the day for naps or when left alone. We put puppy pad at one end and their blanket or bed at the other. Try Petedge or Babies R US. We feed Nutro Natural Puppy Small Bites(chicken) and Iams Small Breed Puppy, we will give you the brand. We leave the food down all the time here, but to better potty train it is a good idea to let the puppy eat , then take him out right away. Put the food up, leave water in their pen. Feed three times a day at first, then reduce to twice per day. They chew on the flat rawhides, throw them out when they are too small. We have little stuffed toys, they chew on and rest their heads. We use fabric puppy pads(washable), they are on EBAY, search whelping pads. Or paper pads can be purchased at pet stores. Some of our families have been very successful with litter training.

The puppy selected will come to the purchaser with up to date Vet shot records, and when traveling a Veterinarian Health Certificate for your state.
The buyer should have the pup checked by his or her own vet within 3 working days to ensure that the pup is normal and healthy. Upon oral confirmation of any major genetic problem from examining vet, the pup may returned to seller within (5) working days of notification, for a pup of equal value.
Replacement is contingent on the pup being returned to the seller in the same condition it left the seller's property, and with a written explanation by veterinarian of choice. Expense of returning the pup to the seller is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
The buyer agrees to have routine care for the pup, which must include vet-recommended immunization and health care program, with flea and tick preventive and heartworm medication during the recommended season. Pup should be kept as parasite free as possible. Buyer must also provide a proper environment that is: food of sufficient quality and quantity to keep the dog in optimum condition, clean water, adequate shelter and shade to protect from elements, with a fenced in yard or secure area or on a leash with a harness (collars can harm puppies), not running loose. Electric fences do not protect your pup from other dogs/animals, use only when humans are present.
The pup will be replaced if the pup should develop any problem with any MAJOR organs, which affect the quality of life of the pup within 1 year of the date of birth. The seller must receive a written and signed vet documentation of the defect and proof of spay/neutering, or euthanasia. The seller reserves the right of a second opinion from another vet of their choice.
A malnourished, obese, or abused condition will void the replacement of pup. Seller is not responsible of reimbursement of accumulated expenses, only for the replacement of this pup.
The pup is being sold with limited registration and must be spayed or neutered by the age of (6) months- (8) months. (Your vet will recommend) . Proof of this procedure needs to be provided to the breeder. This is to protect our pups from Puppy mills. If for any reason the pup has been bred, all puppies are property of the seller's and shall be handed over to the seller's by the age of (9) weeks.
The said pup must be returned to the seller if the owner no longer wants the dog. The papers cannot be transferred to another without the seller's permission.
The purchaser is aware that the Havanese breed does carry a gene that may cause cataracts. The breeder cannot guarantee the pup will not contract cataracts. Breeder does guarantee Parents were clear of cataracts at the time of breeding..
